Africa: 43rd Meeting of NEPAD Steering Committee Opens: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Participants at the 43rd meeting of the Steering Committee of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) started their proceedings on Tuesday 24th of January, 2012, in Addis Ababa, the eve of the 18th summit of the African Union (AU).

The two-day meeting is expected to help examine the draft agenda of the 26th summit of the Guiding Committee of Heads of State and Government slated for Saturday in Addis Ababa, under the chairmanship of  Ethiopian Prime Minister, Melès Zenawi. Read more...

ICT in Agriculture: The office is in partnership with the Internet Society (Nigerian Chapter) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers on a new project tagged “ICT in Agriculture”, the first of its kind in Nigeria. The programme has been successful in South Africa, Ecuador and Mexico, and will be domesticated in Rivers State to help improve the State’s agricultural sector by boosting food production through the effective utilization of ICT.
